NQT Support and Development Conference

This conference is free of charge for KEC NQTs. Owing to difficulties caused by COVID-19, we are unable to invite NQTs in our partner schools who trained with other institutions, as we normally would.

Tuesday 13th October 2020, 1.30pm - 4.30pm

Programme:

Addressing the COVID-19 Learning Gaps

The disruption caused by the COVID-19 lockdown has led to a significant loss of teaching time, and very uneven experiences of learning for pupils. This session, with an emphasis on practical planning, explores the likely impact of the lockdown on children’s education and the strategies most likely restore the lost learning, especially for pupils facing high stakes public examinations.

Getting Things Done as a teacher

The transition from trainee to NQT, with more to do and less support from others, can be challenging. This session explores some of the factors that lead to teacher stress and presents a set of strategies for ensuring that workflow is managed, tasks are prioritised effectively and decisions can be made that support both work and well-being.

I wouldn't be doing this fantastic job without KEC.
