School-centred initial teacher training (SCITT) leading to the award of PGDipEd (QTS)
The SCITT fee-paying route is open to home and EU graduates with settled or pre-settled status. All trainees who successfully complete this route will be awarded PGDipEd (QTS)*. The Post-Graduate Diploma of Education with Qualified Teacher Status is like a PGCE but the PGDE has the advantage of offering 120 credits. This offers tremendous value for money and the credits may be used in the future towards the University of Birmingham's MA in Teaching Studies.
Successful trainees on our SCITT route are highly likely to find teaching posts in KEC schools at the end of the programme.
Applications should be made via UCASTT. The UCAS provider code for the King Edward's Consortium SCITT programmes is K50.
Our courses are listed on the Department for Education's Find postgraduate teacher training search tool.
* Fee paying trainees can opt to take our QTS-only route if they wish.

I think it is great that we are fully immersed into our schools and are able to feel like a member of staff rather than a temporary guest.
