School Direct (salaried) QTS

Trainees who successfully complete the School Direct (salaried) route will be awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Trainees are employees of their school for the year and are usually paid at point 1 of the unqualified teacher pay scale (currently £18,169). There are no fees on this route and trainees are not eligible for bursaries or scholarships. Trainees train in the 11-16 phase and, in addition, we guarantee A' Level experience in at least one school (either the employing or second placement school).

Our courses are listed on the Department for Education's Find postgraduate teacher training search tool.

Following the government's announcement about funding for 2021/22 School Direct (salaried) programmes, we have, regrettably, decided to withdraw this programme:

Applications should be made via UCASTT or the DfE's Apply service. The UCAS provider code for our School Direct (salaried) programmes is 15G.

Preference for salaried places is usually given to applicants with three years of work experience (which could be research) relevant to their teaching subject.

I have finally done it - I have changed career and become what I was meant to be! It's the best feeling in the world!
